Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing!  We have recently been awarded a general contract with Manitoba Hydro to upgrade their Pointe du Bois Hydro Facility. This construction work will consist of replacing older generators and turbines in the powerhouse. We are looking for diligent and responsible employees in the following areas:

Role: Carpenter, Apprentice
Location: Pointe du Bois, Manitoba

Your primary accountabilities would include:

• Responsible to participate in a zero harm safety culture in the execution of the work and support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs;
• Read architectural and structural blueprints, drawings and sketches
• Take measurements, calculate the size and amount of material needed and cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material
• Installation of formwork
• Installation of waterstop
• Installation of anchor bolts and other concrete embedments

Qualifications:

• Be interested in the field of carpentry
• Open to coaching and mentorship from other more senior carpenters and tradespeople
• Ability to work in a team and follow safe work instructions
• Commitment to a safe work environment

Project Information:

• This position will work on a schedule of 14 days on / 7 days off
• Apprentice hourly rates can range from 1st year - $21.57/hour to 4th year - $34.98/hour
• Note, we will be providing competitive room and board allowances along with travel depending on the location of your home residence
