Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing! We have recently been awarded a general contract with Manitoba Hydro to upgrade their Pointe du Bois Hydro Facility. This construction work will consist of replacing older generators and turbines in the powerhouse. We are looking for diligent and responsible employees in the following areas:
Role: Safety Administrator Trainee
Location: Pointe du Bois, Manitoba
As a Safety Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of safety advisors in maintaining a safe and secure construction environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting and Data Collection: Collaborate with the Safety Advisors to gather and organize safety-related data and information. Your attention to detail will contribute to accurate and insightful reporting.
- Document Organization: Ensure that safety documents are properly managed, stored, and easily accessible. Your organizational skills will contribute to the efficiency of our safety processes.
- Learning Opportunities: Embrace the chance to learn and grow within the role. Gain hands-on experience in completing tool box talks, conducting site safety walks, and assisting with safety incident reporting.
What we’re looking for:
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and document organization.
- Computer Abilities: Knowledge of MS Office products, more so in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to assist in sharing safety information and contributing to toolbox talks.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team player who can work collaboratively with Safety Advisors, site personnel, and management.
- Initiative: The ability to take initiative and contribute ideas to improve safety procedures and processes.

Project Information:
- This position will work on a Monday – Friday schedule, working 10-hour days. Note, over the summer work will include some work on the weekend.
- Note, we will be providing competitive room and board allowances along with travel depending on the location of your residence
