Operating Engineer (Overhead Crane), Apprentice

Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing!  We have recently been awarded a general contract with Manitoba Hydro to upgrade their Pointe du Bois Hydro Facility. This construction work will run for about 10 months and consist of replacing older generators and turbines in the powerhouse. We are looking for diligent and responsible employees in the following areas:

 

 

Your primary accountabilities would include:

• Operate crane to lift, move or place construction equipment and materials;
• Assist with erection and dismantle and/or top climbing;
• Perform weekly maintenance - greasing, daily inspection;
• Work with riggers using radios and or hand signals

Qualifications:

• Registered apprentice as a crane operator ;
• Ability to be coached and mentored by more senior tradespeople;
• Past experience working in an industrial construction environment;
• Able to take and follow direction by the construction management team;
• Commitment to a safe work environment 

Project Information:

• This position will work on a Monday – Friday schedule, working 10-hour days. Note, over the summer work will include some work on the weekend;
• The duration of the position will be 10 months until Spring ‘24;
• Note, we will be providing competitive room and board allowances along with travel depending on the location of your residence
