Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing!  We have recently been awarded a general contract with Manitoba Hydro to upgrade their Pointe du Bois Hydro Facility. This construction work will run for about 10 months and consist of replacing older generators and turbines in the powerhouse. We are looking for diligent and responsible employees in the following areas:

 

 

Your primary accountabilities would include:

 

• Responsible to participate in a zero harm safety culture in the execution of the work and support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs;
• Read architectural and structural blueprints, drawings and sketches
• Take measurements, calculate the size and amount of material needed and cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material
• Installation of formwork
• Installation of waterstop
• Installation of anchor bolts and other concrete embedments

 

Qualifications:

 

• Journeyperson / Red Seal Carpenter
• Able to coach and mentor carpenter apprentices
• Past experience working in an industrial construction environment
• Familiar with installing formwork would be an asset
• Commitment to a safe work environment 

 

Project Information:

 

• This position will work on a Monday – Friday schedule, working 10-hour days. Note, over the summer work will include some work on the weekend.
• This work will begin in August / September and will last for about 6 - 7 months until Spring ‘24
• Hourly rate - $39.98/hour plus applicable OT
• Note, we will be providing competitive room and board allowances along with travel depending on the location of your residence
