Role: Field Coordinator, SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping)

Location: Country Canada Wide

Reporting to the respective site Project Managers, the duties of the Field Coordinator will include:

  • General engineering technical support, coordination, and equipment/materials management;
  • Discussions with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring all equipment/materials are inventoried and accounted for;
  • Assist with tracking & reporting on the project;
  • Work with assigned superintendents on daily and weekly construction activities;
  • Monitor and report on all change management activities;
  • Work the project Quality Manager and Safety Leads as required in project execution;
  • Assist the Project Managers/Engineers as required in project development and execution.

The successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or technical diploma in engineering (Preferrable in the discipline of structural or mechanical);
  • 2+ years construction engineering experience required;
  • Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred;
  • Possess verbal, written and presentation skills;
  • Knowledge of design build and other alternative build techniques;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding;
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.

There is an expectation to work extended work schedules, which includes holidays and weekends.  Travel away from home will be required.  Preferred candidates will be open to travel and construction project work and be on a defined rotation work schedule.  Competitive living out allowance will be provided.
