Pennecon Heavy Civil has been awarded the Grizzly Bear Creek Wind Farm Project, located close to the town of Vermillion, AB. Pennecon’s scope of work will include construction of various Project components including tower erection, access road and turbine pad construction, public road upgrades, concrete foundation construction, and collection system installation.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to a heavy civil project team. 

Role: Carpenter
Location: Vermillion, AB

Position required for erecting and dismantling pre constructed form panels, setting templates, anchor bolt installation and alignment for turbine concrete foundations

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Responsible to interpret engineering drawing, install formwork and anchor bolts in accordance with design drawings
  • Ability to plan and execute installation of prefabricated forms panels
  • Ability to continually meet production requirements of work scope
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team
  • Responsible to perform proper rigging techniques when utilizing cranes for assistance

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years working on large scale heavy civil and industrial projects with form setting and anchor bolt installation
  • Formal training in Carpentry
  • Experience with Concrete Placement
  • Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people

Additional Requirements

  • WHMIS, CST, Rigging Certificate

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates, working outside, working 10-12 hours each day.
