Pennecon Technical Services performs project work across a wide variety of industry sectors, from oil and gas to our local municipalities. This is an exciting opportunity for our company and we are currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Role: Hydraulic Technician
Location: St. John’s, NL
The Hydraulic technician will be responsible to perform troubleshooting and diagnostic checks on Hydraulic components and systems; will have experience in electro-hydraulics and control systems; complete repairs to hydraulic and control systems; install & commission new systems and packages; and complete ISO documentation as required. Travel throughout Atlantic Canada may be required.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: Hydraulic Mechanic/Technician, Electronics Technician/Technologist, Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician OR an acceptable combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will have technical experience in the following areas/activities: Independent diagnostics on mobile & heavy equipment including hydrostatic, load sense, pressure compensated and fixed displacement systems; Independent diagnostics on marine vessel systems including winch drives and cranes; Overhaul & repair of various hydraulic & pneumatic components; Start-up/commissioning of new systems.
The successful candidate will be a goal driven individual who supports the Company’s safety and quality programs, has excellent communication skills, is committed to customer satisfaction, has strong organization skills and has the ability to multitask while executing work within deadlines. They will also have a strong work ethic, work well independently as well as part of a team and are proficient in the use of computers. Offshore training would be an asset.
This position will be a casual on call role.
