Position:  Panel Fabrication Technician

Location: Fredericton N.B

The Panel Fabrication Technician will be a hands-on, electrically driven individual with a passion for challenges. We build complex customized panels for a wide variety of customers all across the province and across Canada right from the comforts of our office in Fredericton. Duties of this position include;

  • Assemble and fit metal and other prefabricated parts according to fabrication drawings; 
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics;
  • Fit motor starters, contactors, capacitors, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, printed circuit boards or other electrical control devices into control panels to produce automated processing control equipment, electrical distribution panels, or other industrial electrical control equipment;
  • Wire electrical connections for motor and process control panels;
  • Responsibilities within the QA / QC process, this will include but not limited to inspections of materials, quality document sign off, and testing procedures;
  • Review and reception of materials from external vendors from a compliance and approval standpoint;
  • Utmost respect and compliance for safety protocols at all times

The successful candidate will have an electrician trades background or be a professional electrical engineering technologist (P. Tech), with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. You will have a solid understanding of electrical schematics and be able to interpret engineering drawings. You will enjoy putting things together from beginning to end, on projects that may take weeks to complete (With varying degrees of difficulty along the way), this will require at times lifting of heavy loads and material. Background knowledge in PLC and SCADA would be considered an asset but not a requirement.

You will work a standard Monday to Friday business hours schedule, with occasional need for flexibility based on client demand.  You will have effective communication skills, with an attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a positive team attitude.  This is a full-time permanent position that may require travel from time to time, but largely be Panel Shop based. The position will provide health/dental benefits along with pension planning options.
