Pennecon Heavy Civil has been awarded the Grizzly Bear Creek Wind Farm Project, located close to the town of Vermillion, AB. Pennecon’ s scope of work will include construction of various Project components including tower erection, access road and turbine pad construction, public road upgrades, concrete foundation construction, and collection system installation.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to a heavy civil project team. 

Position: Environmental Advisor

Location: Vermillion, AB

The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Organization and upkeep of the project environmental management system, including submittals as per the Project requirements;
  • Maintenance, Inspection, Reporting and Mapping of all installed BMPs;
  • Conducting frequent inspections and providing a weekly report documenting compliance to the Project Environmental Requirements, assessing identified weaknesses, and providing corrective action recommendations;
  • Investigating and reporting spills.
  • Management of permit restrictions/obligations/requirements.

 

The successful candidate will have a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or an Environmental Engineering Diploma with five (5) years of environmental experience related to construction.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and computer skills.  You are an effective team player with a positive attitude, and you will support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs. 

Once this project has clued up, with the increased projects load in Western Canada, there's a high likelihood of placement on a subsequent project.
