Role: Civil Estimator

Location: St. John's, NL 

Our Civil Estimator will be responsible for:

  • The accurate and timely preparation of full-cost heavy civil estimates for projects including materials, equipment, labour and subcontracts;
  • Review and establishment of unit costs, labour rates, equipment rates, productivity factors and location impacts;
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications;
  • Risk assessments when bidding and estimating on tender packages;
  • Discussion and analysis of projects within the senior management team

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree civil engineering, or a Diploma of Civil Engineering Technology;
  • At minimum 5+ years’ experience in a heavy civil construction environment;
  • Experience estimating work with concrete structures, bridges, highways, hydro-electric dams, marine structures, and earthworks;
  • Experience with using Bid2Win or equivalent estimating software;
  • Experience using Cat FPC software, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, etc would be an asset
  • Heightened knowledge of risk when applied to contracts language, and construction execution
  • Ability to multitask and execute work within hard deadlines;
  • Be able to work well unsupervised as well as within a team environment;
  • Strong work ethic;
