We are looking for dynamic individuals who can bring enthusiasm and innovative solutions to our various projects.  Pennecon Heavy Civil is currently completing work in Golden, BC for the Quartz Creek bridge and highway project and we are seeking individuals who are qualified and interested in joining our team in the role of:

Role: Project Quality Manager

Location: Golden, BC

The Project Quality Manager will report directly into the site Project Manager, and a functional reporting line to the Corporate Quality Manager.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Administer the Project Quality Management program
  • Provide technical interpretation of plans and specifications to site construction supervision and sub-contractors;
  • Review of shop drawings & technical submittals from vendors and subcontractors;
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with consultants as required;
  • Provide surveillance of subcontractor quality activities, complete quality reports; prepare and review inspection/test plans;
  • Provide assistance in the prevention of quality issues and in taking corrective actions
  • Verify/inspect and document the completion of all construction activities and punch-list items;
  • Assist in the development of work packages for turnover completion.

You will be responsible to demonstrate superior safety behaviours in the execution of the work and support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs.  You will work closely with employees and clients and ensure conformance with proper construction techniques.  We expect you to be a leader in your field and be passionate about the work you do. You must also display excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills, and have project experience in working with trade craft labour. 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education with a related diploma or degree.
  • 7+ years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Has detailed technical knowledge of codes and standards, regulatory requirements, modern construction practices, techniques and equipment.
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form.
  • Anticipates problems and challenges and proposes innovative solutions and ensures solutions are consistent with the organizations objectives.

This role will be project site based.  There is an expectation to work extended work schedules, which includes holidays and weekends.  Travel away from home will be required.  Preferred candidates will reside in Western Canada and travel to the work site, as per a defined rotation work schedule. Competitive living out allowance will be provided.
