Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing!  In anticipation of project growth in the Western Canada area, we are seeking high-energy, results oriented and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to a heavy civil project team. With projects now in Golden, BC and Vermillion, AB, we look to continue onwards and upwards with further construction projects in the coming months!

Role: Civil Field Engineers

Location: Edmonton, AB

Reporting to the Project Management team, the Field Engineer will provide general engineering technical support and coordination on our project sites.  The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma with at least 3-5 years of field experience.  Experience in civil construction (including earthworks, concrete work and/or steel structure installation) will be considered an asset. Candidate will be required to regularly perform field inspections to verify quality control and quality assurance.  Candidate will also be required to provide technical interpretation of plans and specifications in order to provide general assistance to site construction supervision. 

You will be responsible to demonstrate superior safety behaviours in the execution of the work and support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs.  You will work closely with employees and clients, and ensure conformance with proper construction techniques.  We expect you to be a leader in your field and be passionate about the work you do. You must also display excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills, and have project experience in working with trade craft labour. 

There is an expectation to work extended work schedules, which includes holidays and weekends.
